Will Resigning My Club Membership Remove a Handicap Modification?

Resigning from club membership does not automatically remove a handicap modification. Under the Rules of Handicapping, a modification to a player’s Handicap Index remains in place until it either expires, is removed by the club’s Handicap Committee, or the player posts enough scores to fully refresh their scoring record, which in this case is 20 scores.

The “M” next to a player’s Handicap Index indicates that a modification is currently applied. That designation will remain until the modification is removed through one of the methods above.
