I did not play a hole. What score do I post?

For a score to be acceptable for handicap purposes, at least 9 holes must be played on a course with a Course Rating™ and Slope Rating™. If 10 to 17 holes are played, usually because of darkness, weather, or match play, you’ll need to enter hole-by-hole scores for the holes you completed so the system can generate an 18-hole Score Differential™.

For example, if you post scores for holes 1 through 16, the system will calculate a Score Differential™ based on those 16 holes and then add an expected Score Differential™ for the 2 holes not played to create an 18-hole Score Differential™.

If you have not yet established a Handicap Index® and are still working toward posting 54 holes, only the 9-hole and 18-hole score posting options will be available.

In most cases, expected score is the default for holes not played. In very limited situations, net par may be used instead, but only with approval from the local Allied Golf Association. In Washington Golf territory, that is WA Golf. Your club’s Handicap Committee is responsible for letting golfers know when net par should be used.
